
Our ZGS-BT 5.8GHz Zhaga radar motion sensor is the core sensing unit of the vehicle-linked smart lighting system for rural roads, built on mature and stable FMCW frequency modulated continuous wave radar technology. Unlike traditional infrared or microwave sensors, FMCW radar can effectively filter interference from leaves, rain, fog and light changes, delivering reliable recognition of moving cars, motorcycles and pedestrians all day long without false triggering or missed detection. Once the radar captures moving targets on the road, it will instantly send synchronous trigger signals to all street light controllers within a 100-meter coverage radius. This wireless linkage realizes a humanized lighting logic: all street lamps ahead of the traveling vehicle will light up in advance, forming a continuous illuminated zone to illuminate bends and dark road sections; after the vehicle passes, the rear lights will not dim immediately but maintain full brightness for a set delay time, avoiding sudden light dimming that disturbs following drivers. This working mode fundamentally solves the major safety hazard of invisible blind zones on winding rural night roads, greatly improving driving visibility and reducing traffic accident risks.
The product adopts the unified Zhaga standard interface popular in the global lighting industry. During renovation projects, construction teams do not need to remove or replace the original lamp housing, light source or power supply; the sensor can be directly installed at the lamp head, greatly simplifying construction steps, shortening construction periods and lowering overall transformation investment for municipal clients. When paired with CTW501-L NEMA LoRaWAN controller, the whole lighting system runs at only 20% standby brightness every night without vehicles, and switches to 100% full brightness only when the radar senses passing traffic. Compared with the traditional mode of keeping all street lights fully lit from dusk till dawn, the overall energy consumption of the road lighting system can be reduced by more than 70%, bringing obvious electricity cost savings every year for road management departments.
